Alias Mary Dow (Universal, 1935). (2) Half Sheets (22 X 28 ). Little Mary Dow disappears from home on her 3rd birthday. Eighteen years after the fact, Mary s fatally ill mother (Katherine Alexander) makes a deathbed request to see her daughter one last time. A wealthy businessman (Henry O Neill) convinces a cynical waitress (Sally Eilers) to pose as the long-lost Mary. She agrees, only after O Neill offers to pay her. Eilers becomes compassionate toward the dying woman, and plays the good daughter. Only later does she discover that she may in fact be the person she s portraying. The poster with white background has the typical fold lines, but is otherwise in wonderful condition. This half sheet offers a great image of a young Raymond Milland. The other style has the same minor flaws, but offers a tremendous Art Deco image of the cityscape and a sultry Sally Eilers. Very Fine.
