Well, Lord and Lady Hartley are taking their son, Sir Gerald on a grand tour of Europe. He has just finished his studies at Eaton and is anxious to see the world---not necessarily with his parents, however. Lady Hartley personally supervised the packing of all of those trunks and cases and brought along maid, Martha, to lug them. Lord Hartley, the 5th Earl of Rockston, is calmly standing by. He would never interfere with Lady Hartley's plans. In reality, I think this is the most beautiful dollhouse doll I have ever had. She is German (I think) and about 1870. She is all original with the most beautiful pale skin and face paint. Her hair is done up in a very unusual braided, curled & knotted style with a band at the back, middle and front. The front is of hand-painted gold powder-paint. She has drop earings of the same paint. I have never had a doll with earrings. She has a bisque shoulder plate and bisque limbs. She has spade hands and flat boots painted black She also has a molded bustline. Her clothes are original and splendid. She is wearing a patterned silk of cream and beige with coffee colored trim. She has a jacket with a peplum and collar over a skirt with tiny pleats at the back and a slight brush train. The sewing is hand done and absolutely wonderful. She also has her original linen knickers and slip. She has no issues. read more
