This auction is for a custom made knife sheath and for a special knife, not the usual shape and design. I made the sheath pictured for a recent auction winner. It's heavy tooling leather, 8 to 10 oz. basketweave tooled and double stitched. The bigger knives seem to look better in the heavier leather sheaths. The sheath is all smooth grain out and finished the best I can do. I use the best US tanned leathers I can buy. I expect my sheaths to last for generations. Same as I do for all my work, if anything ever comes apart or fails because of my work, I repair or replace free and for sheaths I would pay the postage. But, I've never had to do that. Around we see horse wrecks, so harness and tack I've built gets torn up that way, even then I've repaired some free for good customers. I do most of my stitching on my Singer 97, its an old needle type machine and does a nice job for me. I've built a lot of harness on it. I don't see any that pull a tighter stitch. I've been a leather worker forty some years and have operated Pineview Harness Shop since 1997. Most of my work is draft horse harness and cowboy tack. These sheaths are a nice change of pace and I enjoy making them. Also just now I'm needing the extra work. The way this auction works is the buyer will send their knife to me, paying only the auction price and their cost of postage. I'll pay the return postage for the knife and new sheath. I'll insure and pay that too if the knife is insured in sending to me. So the buyer pays only the auction price and their cost of mailing to me. I limit the auction to blades up to 12" and to continental US. I've done quite a few of these sales over the years and have never had a problem. I do take good care of the knives I get I'm the only person handling them. I do make sure the buyer is more than pleased with my work.
