ALBUM PAGE SIGNED IN INK 4 X 6 1/2 OF ALLEN T. CAPERTON UNITED STATES SENATE. "A. T. CAPERTON WEST VIRGINIA" Excellent dark, rich autograph. ALLEN T. CAPERTON.1810-1876. Born near Union Monroe County, Virginia. Garduated from the University of Virginia. He served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Elected to the Virginia Senate in 1844. In 1850 and 1861 was a delegate to the State constitutional conventions. During the Civil War he was elected by the legislature of Virginia to be a member of the Confederate States Senate, he served until 1865. He was the first ex-Confederate elected ti the United States Senate. Pa. residents, please include 6% tax. $3.50 shipping/insurance on items.
