Alley Oop by V. T. Hamlin 29 1933 Daily Newspaper Strips, an NEA newspaper comic. Strip size 12" long x 2 3/4" high, the old style daily strips from the 1930's. These are actual individual strips for the year of 1933 in a special collector folder from Lion. Every page is made with a protective poly covering over the quality paper page. Each page holds 2 or 3 daily strips. The strips are loose in the book. NEA began this series of Alley Oop on August 7, 1933. Alley Oop ran a series in 1932/33 with another distributor, but they folded up. So this was Alley Oops new and famous series which is still syndicated to this day. These 29 strips are from the first two months of the beginning of the series, and begins with the 2nd strip, August 8. The 29 strips are: August: 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, and 31. Only 3 missing from the first month of the strip run. September: 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, and 22. Only 5 missing from the second month up to Sept. 22. Also included in this package is a smaller Xerox copy of the August 7, 1933 strip, which is the 1st strip of the NEA Alley Oop comic series. Overall the strips are in very good condition. No damage, rips or tears, no marks or writing. They are a bit dark from age, but still have a nice body to them, not brittle. The strips have been cut out
