Some 35 years ago, around 1978 or so, we bought at a farm toy auction the rights to purchase all the serial number ones that Joe Ertl of Scale Models was going to produce . Up for a single high bid are four different tractors, each a serial number one.They have never been displayed and have spent the last several decades in their shipping cartons. Factory fresh, so to speak. As I recall, Joe serial numbered each different model he produced up to 2,500. Each of these four tractors are serial number one. Not serial number two or three or 1,286. Serial number one. All four for sale together, highest bid takes all three home. A very low reserve, buyer pays shipping. No Canada or foreign sales please.
