Listed artist Allison Kendis' source of inspiration for her artwork comes from her dreams. When she paints she doesn't have any ideas about what the painting is going to become ahead of time. This method of working is known as "automatic drawing," a method borrowed from the Dadaists and Surrealists. This process is meant to bypass the critical hemisphere of the left brain and come directly from the right intuitive side. Allison Kendis received her BFA in 1985 from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA, and has exhibited throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties. She lives in Costa Mesa, CA. Allison Kendis was listed in an article by The Guide to Art Galleries and Museums in Southern California. One of her paintings was exhibited in 1996. The painting that was on exhibit was named "Seth". A really nice article was written about her work by Kathy Zimmerer (Mythos Gallery, Burbank California). You can see this interesting article and picture of one of her exhibited paintings titled "Seth" at: /ArticlesFile/Archive/Articles1996/Articles0296/Saints.html This painting is a very good investment.
