You are looking at a pair of Alt Meissenporcelain bisque relief portraits in baroque style frames with certificates attached to the back of the frame. Each piece is made in Germany and the certificates are in German, French, and English. These are in good used condition, but there are a few flaws which I will describe and our photos will add to the visual description of the pieces.As read from the certificate - Both pieces depict a scene from the castle park of Sanssouci, about 1750 - 1760. The pastoral plays, performed in the castle parks of the Rococo, were a favorite amusement for Grandes Dames and Cavaliers. They were cultivated with spirit and charm and were part of the abundance of the Rococo and of the happy century. Each Alt Meissen porcelain bisque relief portraits in baroque style frames measure 13 3/4" high x 11 1/2" wide x 2 3/4" deep. The figurines are a tad dusty as we do not clean items and on the one gentleman's head there is a black mark which could be removed, but again we do not repair items and leave this to the buyer. The one frame also has a small chip on the top of the frame (see photos), some gold paint has worn off, and there is edge-wear from being moved and displayed. You can see in the pictures that the porcelain pieces are in great shape (no knicks etc.) Please not there is some apparent water damage on the back of one of the frames. Also please note you can see a crack in one of the frames. Other than that these are in great shape. I saw a similar listing of these sell for $100 with some knicks so I decided to sell these.Please ask questions! I will answer what I can.
