Aluminum chain mail shirt (hauberk, or haubergeon, if you want to get technical) Calling it a men's size medium, as it is not tagged. (Hauberk is modeled by my axe-bearing, coif-wearing son, who was about 5'10" and 150 lbs at the time of the photo) Measurements (approximate): 14" across the shoulder (measuring from the neck to the bottom edge of the sleeve. 18" arm opening (round sleeve edge) Neck opening is 24" around. 15" on sides (from armpit to bottom hem) 24" center front (from neck to hem) 25" across chest Weighs a little over 6 lbs. (lighter weight than steel mail, and certainly not as messy as powdered mail, so good for kids). Includes stuff pouch. The mail links are not riveted, so tends to loose rings. Some of the rings are off, but I've collected as many as I could find and they will be included with the shirt. (I would re-knit them, but I've done this more than I'd care to admit, so I'll let the next owner practice with it. Just needs a good set of needle nose pliers, pattern recognition, and patience.) Purchased in 2004, worn at medieval festivals. Wouldn't recommend it for re-enactment or SCA combat, as it is pretty soft being aluminum. But great for costumes and those just getting into renaissance faires and such. Please email questions prior to bidding. Items are offered as is, with no warranties or guarantees, read more
