Vintage Aluminum Christmas Tree Imperial Artic Star WITH POMS PROFESSIONALLY DECORATED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DECORATE 100+ ORNAMENTS ORIGINAL BOX is one of the most beautiful trees that I have ever decorated. I have to admit it was breathtaking. My mom bought us a silver tree when I was a kid and I hated it as did my dad, brothers and sisters, but my mom loved it. It just seemed so bare and ugly and we couldn't put our ornaments on it that we saved through the years..... BUT... I changed my mind after doing this tree..... It is a very full tree after I decorated it.... not Charlie Brown sparse and ugly. The branches on this tree are full as it has the FOUNTAIN POMS on the ends of each branch. You can look at the pictures and see that this is a full tree even without the ornaments. This tree came out of a mansion in St. Louis, Missouri (estate sale). Since I did Christmas trees every year, I thought I would do something different... boy was I surprised with this tree.... the more I did, the prettier it got, and it became a labor of love.... decorating Christmas trees is my favorite thing to do.....I just love Christmas !!!! This tree comes in the original box. It must have been mailed to the owners as it has a shipping label with their name and address on it. This was not a cheap tree. The box states that it is an aluminum metal tree. It comes with an octagon color wheel. I don't know if this is original to the tree as I had two color wheels when I bought it and I sold one. I kept the best wheel for this tree. You will also get a set of instructions on how to decorate this tree. However, I did not use the color wheel with this tree.... you don't need it. I put white lights on the tree. The cords of the lights are silver so they blend in with the branches. This really made this tree stand out. T are three types of ornament bulbs. The first ones are an opalescent purple, reflects the light as you can see in the picture. It has a pearlish purplish hue. T are silver balls and then I have tricolor kalaidescope type silver balls. If you look at them, they have different colors in them. They pick up the purple in the other ornaments. I put silver beads and an opalescent and silver beaded garland on the branches. I have silver candles that clip on the branches. This worked great as you didn't have to hang them. T are crystal/glass/clear look ornaments that reflect the light like prisms. T are also opalescent isicle ornaments, so you don't have all the same shape on the tree. Overall, t are 100+ ornaments/decorations. I put a glittery silver ball for a tree topper and then put glittery white/silver ribbon on the tree. I used silvery/purple poinsettas around the top which just set this tree off. I used silver Lame' for the bottom of the tree. When you put your presents around it, try to use a coordinating wrapping paper... shiny, purple, silver, etc... This will help set your tree off. The pictures of this tree do not do it justice. Because it was silver and I had some mirrors on the walls, I couldn't get the lighting right. The box says the tree is 6'. It seems taller to me, maybe because I put the huge silver ball on top. I like this size better than the 7-1/2" tree which I have. The 6' tree is easier to decorate and cheaper to decorate as it is not as big. Bigger is not always better. I like the 6' trees. If you have a 7-1/2' tree and you go to put an animated tree topper, it won't work unless you have at least 10' ceilings. I learned this the hard way with my Barbie trees and Mickey Mouse trees.... the topper won't fit, it hits the ceiling and my ceilings are 9'. I had to wire them on.
