This set of six (6) silver stir sticks are shaped liked golf clubs and come with their own leather golf bag that stands on it's own for easy displaying. The "Alvin" stamp is clearly visible on each golf club head. From what I've found, this piece was made in the 1920s. Each club weighs approximately 23.6 grams (for a total of 141.6 grams), which translates into 4.5525 troy ounces of silver. The silver is a bit varnished, but can be easily cleaned to restore the silver's shine. The Alvin Mfg. Co. was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamouneau in Irvington, NJ. The company moved to Sag Harbor, Long Island in 1895, and later changed it's name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The company's dies and patterns were acquired by Gorham in 1928.
