This is a very nice vintage set of sterling silver in the Alvin Chateau Rose pattern. This set consists of twelve 5-piece place settings and seven additional serving pieces. All of the pieces are in very good to excellent estate condition, with no monograms. The pieces have the fine scratches and polishing marks on the flat parts of the handles and blades that are commensurate with their age. T are also some small pit marks on some of the stainless steel knife blades--they are barely noticeable and too small for my digital camera to capture in a picture. This is a vintage set that was collected over time. Eleven of the 12 forks are marked "Alvin Sterling Pat 1940" and "Chateau Rose", the 12 th fork is marked "Alvin Sterling". Six of the teaspoons are marked "Alvin Sterling Pat 1940" and six are marked "Alvin Sterling". All of the all sterling individual butter spreaders are marked "Alvin Sterling Pat 1940. The master butter knife, large serving spoon, sugar spoon, jelly spoon and gravy ladle are all marked "Alvin Sterling Pat 1940". T are no markings on the cheese server, the hollow handled butter knife or the knives.
