This is a set of 8 place settings of Silver Plate made in 1929 by The Alvin Corp. in a simple retro styled pattern called DAWN. Alvin Silver Plate is made in the world's largest sterling silver manufactory.
Sold exclusively in fine jewelry stores over 75 years ago, it is made in just one quality - THE BEST! The base is 18% nickel silver and it is overlaid with a thick layer of pure silver fine. I'm not an expert but the size and weight of these pieces feels very substantial. It consists of eight place settings including 16 teaspoons - plus 3 serving spoons, 1 butter knife, and 1 sugar/relish/jam spoon. It includes the original felt-lined wooden storage chest that is in fair to good condition: 8 dinner knives - 9.5" 8 dinner forks - 8" 8 salad forks - 6.75" 16 teaspoons - 6" 8 round soup spoons - 6.75" 8 individual butter knives - 5.75" 3 large serving spoons - 8.75" 1 sugar/jam spoon - 6" 1 regular butter knife - 7" **NO RESERVE and just in time for your special family Holiday dinner, I will ship FREE by FedEx including careful packaging, insurance, and secure tracking.
