THE SPIRIT OF 'SEVENTY-SIX (2 volumes boxed) The Story of the American Revolution as told by Participants by Henry Steele Commager and Richard B. Morris "is the story of the American Revolution in the words of those who fought it". "Henry Commager and Richard Morris have, beyond question, compiled 'the most comprehensive and the best anthology' of American Revolutionary writing that has ever been brought together. ... The editors have assembled upward of a thousand pieces of eyewitness writing. It is written as only master historians and deep-hearted Americans can write." This 1958 stated 1st edition is near fine with NO defects: it is tight, square, clean, smoke free and odor free. This Bobbs-Merrill publication has 1348 pages (total) including numerous unnumbered illustations on heavy, glossy paper. The dust jackets are lightly chipped along the edges. They have not been price clipped ($15.00) and are now in clear mylar for protection (causing glare in picture). The box is very good with some wear to the corners and edges, especially along the bottom, from age and shelf wear. The paper title shows slight rubbing, again from age and shelf wear. This 1958 stated first edition of THE SPIRIT OF SEVENTY-SIX (2 volume boxed set) by Henry Commager and Richard Morris would be an interesting and informative addition to any Revolutionary War library.100% satisfaction guaranteed. All books bubble wrapped & boxed for shipping. Multiple wins boxed together for S&H discount. INTERNATIONAL bidders please ask about shipping cost before bidding; paypal only please.
