One of the "amazing" things about this 1920's Girl Scout uniform is the condition. It's almost a hundred years old (I said ALMOST ) and t are no rips, tears, odors, dry rot, no missing snaps or buttons... This is an item originally from Gary Indiana (t's an "East Gary" patch on the upper left arm) which came to the east coast by way of Colorado. The uniform is actually a nice weight cotton, not too heavy and not too light; it's got a side snap skirt and a front snap shirt with buttons and t The unform is quite a bit on the smallish side - the skirt measures 13-1/4" at the waist, 17-1/4" at the hips (measured right below the two front pockets), overall length of 30-1/2"; the shirt measures 12-1/4" across the shoulders seam to seam, 19" across the chest at the underarms, and about 24" in length measured down the center of the back from tip of folded collar to bottom tip. Patches on the left arm include (from top down) East Gary insignia, a round 3-leave clover patch, a two stripe patch, and an eye in a circle. I have no earthly idea what they might mean. It's unusual to find such a vintage garment in such wonderful condition although surely it has been worn. If you have any questions or need further information please email me before bidding.
