Amazing 19th Century Handpainted Leather Folding Screen This is a great 3 panel handpainted screen from the turn of the century, in amazing condition for its age. It features Italian style paintings of putti and goddesses on each panel. It seems to be painted on leather with an embossed leather back with a damask flower pattern embossed on it. The painting on the front is in great shape just a few areas w the paint has chipped off. The rest of the paint seems to be very stable without any real cracking to it that I can see. T is a little wear to the sides on the edges of the leather w it attaches to the frame, and I have included a photo of this. It could be touched up if it bothers you, but I like it.The fronts of the panels are decorated with brass tacks as well as on the sides. T is also a white mark on one of the backs of the panels, it may clean right off I have not tried. T are no holes and the leather is still very tight. Each panel measures 18" by 69". This is such an amazing piece that had belong to the lady I bought it froms parents. They had it as long a she could remember, so it is quite old. Please ask any question you have.
