From my personal vintage jewelry collection: Up for auction is this absolutely FABULOUS Weiss bracelet and brooch set. The rhinestones are large and lovely, and consist of several sizes of marquis and rounds in the brilliance of the sparkling pastel color scheme. The magnificent hues include pink, pink aurora borealis, lavender, pale and dark citrine, and olivine, which sometimes looks a bit like peridot. They all glitter just like the fabulous semi-precious stones that they emulate. All stones are faceted and prong-set in bright gold-toned metal. This set is in wonderful condition, created in a 3-dimensional, layered design that is one of my very favorites, as is the color scheme. I hope my photos bring out just some of it's beauty, but am afraid that they make the pieces appear darker than they really are, so please bear with me on this one. The design is one used frequently by Weiss, but not always easy to find, because we love them, and hang onto them for awhile. The pastel shades are always very desirable and relatively hard to find, especially in this design -- perfect for anytime. The more I learn about this versatile designer, the more I am continually surprised and impressed. This design has become a favorite of mine, quite intricate and amazing, given the level of detail.Both the bracelet and brooch are signed in oval cartouches on the backs of each piece. All pieces are signed WEISS, probably early 1950's. Absolutely breathtaking! All stones appear bright and clear, with virtually no wear to them or to the extremely shiny gold-toned metalwork. T are no stones missing, dark or dull. All stones just shine brilliantly! This set is of excellent quality and is very wearable. It is absolutely amazing to find one in this wonderful condition. Both pieces look as if they've never been worn.The bracelet measures approx. 7 1/8 inches long and 1 inch wide at the widest point, and is a very wearable size and weight. T is a nice, tight jeweled push-slot clasp, and a working safety chain. It has the cool and slinky feel against the wrist, for which this style is quite well-known, much like the feel of Sherman bracelets.The glamorous wreath-shaped brooch is fabulous as well, and measures approx. 1 7/8 inches long by 1 7/8 inches wide at its widest points. The design is quite breathtaking.This is an exquisite and treasured Albert Weiss bracelet and brooch set! Always beautiful, well-constructed, and always in style.
