Today for your consideration is a beautiful antique cobalt blue caster set. I bought this at a antique store more then 25 yrs. ago & this is NOT a new reproduction. The bottles are slightly darker in that rich deep blue then my pictures show. They look so much better in person. It is cut to clear with roses & stems & leafs. I can find no damage except one metal lid has cracked but it has not caused any problems & is sturdy. I go to antique stores & malls often & about 10 yrs. agao I found 2 matching bottles. I thought about them over night as they were over priced but thought how often am I ever going to buy 2 matching extra bottles & I do have one bottle with the cracked metal lid,so the next day I went back & bought them. The metal stand is dripping with victorian style with rose buds on the bottom section & fancy metal legs & beautiful designs all over the stand & the handle is amazing as well, talk about Chic!! However, sadly the silver plate was polished to much & not only is 99% of the silver plate rubbed away but you can see & feel where the metal was actually rubbed off in one tiny area & someone repaired it with solder. The metal now is a gray pewter look for the most part & needs a good cleaning. So do the bottles & glass stoppers. The bottles all seem to be in great condition. I see no flaws. The stopper are very pretty but I do not think they are original by the way they fit. The stoppers also have chippy bottom that are never seen in the bottles. They can easily be ground down smooth by any glass repair store for cheap if that sort of thing matters to you. I also do not believe the stand is original because 2 bottle (with the stoppers) move slightly in there holder part but I could be wrong. I can say they are NOT new reproduction ones, they are all very very old & I believe turn of the century or maybe a little later but right in that era. Now about TRADES: My kitchen is going from Blues to pinks. I have a antique cranberry caster set I bought recently to replace this set with. However another set would be awsome too so if you have a pink or red caster set but want a blue then I can consider trades.I do not expect someone who has 7 bottles & that is ok with me & if there is a chip or flaw in yours, as long as it is not too bad, I am OK with that too. It would be for me anyway not for resell so I am not so picky:-). Also I am looking for old well love antique teddy bears & or French dolls so could consider a trade there too. I paid 499.99 over 25 yrs. ago for my set at a antique store & spent a addtional 100.00 for the 2 extra bottles. however if you want it & want to pay cash/PayPal I am going to add a LOW buy it now price too. I am just trying to open doors for folks who would love to trade then spend cash right now. With the economy the way it is I wish more folks on eBay bartered & traded & for only a 89.99 starting bid & NO RESERVE how can you go wrong? If you want just the bottles & have your own stand, you can take off half the shipping charges but the price will be the same. From a non-smoking home. I will give you 2-3 shipping options for you but USPS does all the calculations by size, weight & distance it has to travel to get to you. Whatever the shipping is, it's what USPS puts in for your area. I have no control over what they charge,as that money goes to them & not me,so please understand I only give USPS the size of your box & the weight. Eventually everything is recycled here:-) Helping to keep mother earth a little more green. As always, may God bless you & yours,Kathy Gilpatrick User id: *VictorianGem*
