AMAZING GERMAN 14K GOLD & PEARL NECKLACE c1920 Presented is a fabulous old multiple strand pearl necklace. The necklace is composed of 25 strands strung with an amazing number of beautiful little seed pearls. T are approximately 13,400 pearls in the necklace, all strung by hand. That must have taken some time. The pearls are all natural. The necklace has a beautiful 14K gold clasp decorated with white enamel and two rose cut diamonds. The clasp is very well made with a plunger clasp and a safety catch for additional security. The necklace was made in Germany around 1920. The necklace is hallmarked on the clasp with Germany, 585 for 14K gold, and a maker's mark of MM. The 585 mark is only partially visible. We have tested the necklace with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold. The condition is excellent. The clasp is strong and fastens securely. The pearls are not worn. T are no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The necklace is 17 5/8 inches long. The weight is 38.4 grams.
