AMAZING KANAB GOLDENSTONE SANDSTONE FREE FORM SCULPTURE - KANAB UTAH Approx. Size: 8.5"(Inches) Tall X 3.6"(Inches) Wide - (at the base) X 2.1" (Inches) Deep Weight: 2 Pound + 6.4 Ounces!!! This is natural sandstone, formed 180 to 220 million years ago by wind and water as part of the geological formation “Shinarump”. The colors and designs were induced by a mineral spring containing iron oxides. If you like the unusual and beautiful works of nature, you will enjoy this picture sandstone. Truly, “Nature’s most beautiful paintings.” KANAB GOLDENSTONE: Is found near Kanab, Utah, on the Arizona side of the border. Unique for its dark iron banding and landscape like designs. It has not been altered in any way except cut into shapes. Kanab Goldenstone is different from Arizona Sierra Sandstone in that it comes from an area around Kanab, Utah versus the Northern Arizona area and it is not heat treated which enhances the color bringing out the iron oxides rich color in the Arizona Sierra Sandstone. This is a beautiful free form sculpture with gorgeous patterns and natural designs. This specimen would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
