This auction is for an incomplete copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #3.
This comic was published by Marvel in July, 1963. Both a pin-up page and the letters page have been cut out of this comic. The 21-page full-length story is complete. This comic's spine is worn with 3/4" tears at both the top and the bottom of the spine. T are small tears at the upper staple. T's a 1" tear in the front cover's top edge with smaller tears and small pieces missing elsew along the edges. T are multiple diagonal creases in the front cover's lower right corner. The interior pages are tan. The pages are lightly bent in the lower outer corner. The back cover also has small tears and bends along the edges. Additionally, t are two slices at the bottom of the back cover that run through the coupon in the lower right corner. These appear to have been made by a sharp razor blade or knife. One slice is 2 1/2" long and the other is 1 1/2" long. The last interior page is also sliced in the same spots and a 3/16" square piece is missing at the bottom. This was an ad page on both sides, so the story is not affected. Again, both a pin-up page and the letters page have been cut out of this comic. Enough of a stub was left on those pages that the remaining pages are still secure. This comic contains the first appearance and origin of Doctor Octopus. Be sure to look for the panel w Doc Ock mistakenly calls Spider-Man "Super-Man". The Human Torch makes a brief appearance in this issue. Winning bidder in the United States will pay $4.05 for priority mailing. Insurance will also be required on this package. That amount will be determined by this auction's final value. International shipping will be much more expensive as this comic will be sent by global express or registered mailing with insurance and full declaration of value.
