Over the years I have owned thousands of pieces of vintage costume jewelry. This is without a doubt the most wonderful parure I have ever found! This impressive unsigned set is not for wallflowers! You will be the center of attention when wearing this funky and fabulous jewelry. When I first saw this set at a central Iowa estate sale I thought it had a Hattie Carnegie look to it but the only mark I can find on any of the pieces is a Japan stamp on the inside of the expansion bracelet. The big jewelry designers obviously bought some of the jewelry findings (parts) from Japan and assembled the jewelry in the states. Any help identifying the designer of this set would be greatly appreciated. I am sure it is an unsigned designer piece, definitely not "made in Japan" quality. Each piece of this set is in excellent vintage condition! The beads are all gold tone metal with very little darkening on the round beads. The oval beads that look like coiled rope are bright and shiny as new. The faux pearl drops have great lustre and no chipping, very few light scratches. The rhinestone balls have all of their stones. I cannot find any cloudy or "dead" rhinestones. The expansion bracelet is still stretchy and tight. The clip backs on the earrings are tight and work well. The backs are slightly darkened from wear. The bib is meant to be worn close to the neck (like a choker) with the pearl drop hanging down the back of your neck. It is 17" long hook to end. It is strung on clear nylon string, like fishing line. It could have been restrung but I am not sure. The longest dangling strand is 5&1/2" long. The bib is heavy but not too heavy to wear comfortably. The expansion bracelet is meant to be worn on the upper arm. The fringe hangs 4" below the 1" wide beaded bracelet- 5" total top to bottom. The clip earrings are 2.5" top to bottom. The photos cannot capture the awsomeness of these pieces! Please, if you are interested in this lovely set, bid early so you don't forget!
