Presented for auction is a High Standard EAPG Pedestal Cake Stand in a fabulous fall/warm amber color....perfect for the holiday season. It was made by Adams c.1874 in the beautiful embossed floral pattern known as "Wildflower", and is the only size made in this pattern. It's VERY STATELY in size, standing over 7" high, and measuring 10 1/2" in diameter to the outer edge of the scalloped lace rim, 9 1/4" in diameter to the outer edge of the stand-up rim, and the base is 5 1/4" wide. T are no chips or cracks; t is overall short/long utensil marks around the whole plate, and t are some lines (straw marks or moulding/cooling lines) in the glass that are in the diamond patterned area (quarter area of plate), but hard to see unless held at an angle. I tapped the glass all-around and the tone is even, and they do not go through the glass, so they must be a result of the glassmaking/cooling process. T are the usual old mould markings found in antique glass, like bubbles, straw marks, and swirls/striations. These characteristics occur during the glassmaking process, and are what give each and every piece of antique glass their own personality. T is a dimpled area in the center of the plate, also from the moulding process.
