It's not a very "romantic" name that has been attached to this... sparkling... bright... "Potbelly" Vase... but I think you'll have to agree... that the name does describe the shape quite well!!!... I've also heard this shape vase referred to by collectors as the "Cannonball" style. But by whatever name its called... this Marigold Carnival Glass "splash of color"... will always remain... a piece that's destined to attract attention!!!.... This grand Vase stands a very impressive 8 ½ inches tall... a bit over 6 inches across the "Spitoon Top" rim... a bit over 7 inches across the widest point of that robust "belly"... and a generous 4 and ¼ inches across the bottom. Close examination reviles this Vase to be in excellent condition. The body glass color is a rich Amber Orange... often referred to as Amberina Glass. Now when we add this Carnival finish... which is simply "alive" with sparkle... luster... and fleeting rainbows of color... we end up with what collectors call... "Marigold Carnival Glass". "Rambler Rose"... is the name given to this patten... and a very descriptive and totally reasonable name it is!!!... Just below the Ruffled Rim a "lattice band" snugs tight the "neck" of the Vase.
