Beautiful, Original, Striking, 1850's -1860's 1/6 Plate Ambotype in half case Massachusetts Infantryman in FULL DRESS Pre Civil War Coatee, Crossbelts, waist belt & gloves with his Tall M1834 Shako, Plate & Pompom This Soldier wears a Lovely Early Militia Uniform, probably deep blue with light blue trim. It has two buttons & lace on each side of the collar, three buttons on each sleeve trim, and probably nine large 3-piece buttons on the front. He is posed with his white-buff crossbelts under his Enlisted Epaulettes. The epaulettes bear some type of insignia. The Cross belt plate is rectangular bearing an eight point star with a shield ton.On his waist belt is the ornate belt plate that appears to be that of the: Charlestown City Guard , of Charlestown, Massachusetts (O'Donnell & Campbell Plate #330) or the Sutton Light Infantry , of Sutton, Massachusetts (O'Donnell & Campbell Plate #335); or even the Tiger First Regiment , of Boston, Massachusetts, (O'Donnell & Campbell, Plate #331). The waist belt appears to be black. His high Felt & Leather Shako appears to be a militia version of the U.S. Model 1834 "Infantry & Artillery Cap". It has high grade Cap cords, metal chin scales, a tulip pompom holder & the "Bomb" is replaced by a very fancy militia device, probably the Mass. seal within laurel leaves.
