Here is a beautiful American Brilliant Cut Glass pitcher. I have had a dandy of a time trying to determine the exact maker and year. I have note been able to verify it, but I am pretty sure it may be a Fry. In terms of date, Fry was in operation from 1901-1934 and another piece (a signed Libbey vase) from the estate dates from 1896-1906. But the floral designs became increasingly popular around towards the end of the American Brilliant period which was around 1916. So with all that said, I am dating this to circa 1910. This pitcher, regardless of age or origin, is gorgeous in its own right. This pitcher has a saw-tooth edge, an applied handle that is flat on top and has thumbprints and a fluted tusk lip. The design features a border at the midsection a starburst base, large 8-petal flowers with stems and leaves and 8 point stars and crosshatched ovals. It did have matching drinking glasses, but the family sold them elsewhere. Dimensions: 9.75" tall; 7" wide from handle to spout edge; 5.5" diameter of vessel section. Overall this pitcher is in very good condition. There is one crack on the base. I looked at this pitcher quite a few times with a very strong eye before I ever saw the flaw. However, it appears to be on the inside as we cannot feel the lines on the exterior. Therefore, it hold its liquids. Please see photos and you will see what I mean.
