Brilliant American Cut Glass Sunburst Water Carafe This is a wonderful American Brilliant Cut Glass carafe decanter with a high complex pattern. This piece has sharp cuts,faceted hobstars,with a circle of either a starburst by Pitkins & Brooks or Daisy by Averbeck. I do not know the maker, but I have research books similar in patten but, this piece has much more points and pinwheels an designs.This piece features the hobstars, star bursts design alternating with a diamond design with fans and razor cuts on the bottom of carafe a 24 point hobstar. The clarity of the American Brilliant Period glass is exceptional and it is an extremely high quality glass. When held to the light it is highly light refractive and you can see every color of the rainbow. The color of the glass indoors reflects a bright white light. The care given to the precision and accuracy of every deep sharp cut is amazing and sparkles! The glass is clear with a very white color. With no sickness or residue. T are some rim chips and minor nicks as would be expected for the age of this highly complex patten. Size 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" it is a very heavy piece.
