AMERICAN DREAM VINTAGE ROLLING PAPERS In recent years, a niche collectibles market has developed around vintage cigarette rolling papers. Among the most valued of these are custom printed rolling papers produced by American Dream Advertising between the years 1971 and 1981. American Dream clients included record companies, rock groups, boutiques, hair salons, restaurants and others from around the world. Styx, NRPS, John Lennon, Peter Tosh, Mountain, the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, R. Crumb, Fritz the Cat, and Larry Flynt were among American Dream’s customers. The relative scarcity of American Dream marked papers has created a high demand and value for them, yet denied collectors the opportunity to enjoy the true extent of American Dream’s work and to learn more about the company. That has now changed with the decision of American Dream founder, Michael Garjian, to open up his private collection for view and purchase. This trove of 3,000 packs is artistically diverse and in uncirculated condition since they were taken off the production line, set aside for Michael, and never left the factory.
