This auction is for a Prewar American Flyer O-gauge cast iron (not die-cast) steam engine. Made in 1931 this 3180 has the 0-4-0 wheel arrangement and no reversing unit, which is correct. All brass trim is in place, including the flag stanchions. The casting was repainted in gloss black (looks good) some time ago. Wheels turn freely but the motor is is not running (I have not had the time to check out the problem). The outer drive rods are warped slightly but they do not bind. No rust, cracks, dents or missing parts, wheels are not warped. The only non original part is the screw and nut that have been added to act as a pin to connect the tender. No reserve. This hard to find unit is being offered due to the fact that I have doubles and the wife says "thin things down" (maybe she was talking about my weight) ? Thanks for looking! Questions, call during the day at . Shipping = $8.00 Returns accepted within 7 days for refund of purchase price.
