AMERICAN FLYER 3208 PREWAR O GAUGE BOX CAR, EARLY CREAM CAR W/TURQUOISE ROOF AND SLIDING DOORS, SERIES 6A TRUCKS 1928-1929American Flyer early cream box car with turquoise roof and sliding doors. Single brake wheel, two brass side ladders and series 6A trucks date this piece to 1928 or early 1929. Brass ladders are tabbed to car body and brass steps are riveted to black frame. Early T slot-style coupler with off-set end tabs for attachment per first production. Car has etched brass plates (2-American Flyer Lines and 2-3208 plates), 2-brass ladders and one brake wheel. Equipped with type 6A trucks with 7/8” wheels and brass journal boxes. Overall condition is very good plus to near excellent. All brass fixtures show slight age dulling and tarnishing. Minor rubs and dings. I purchased this at TCA York in the early 70s along with the 3210 Tank car and 3207 Sand Car listed earlier. Certainly a worthy display piece of early 9-1/2” freight cars from Chicago Flyer. Shipped within the US only.
