American Flyer O Scale #561 Steam Engine - 1939-1941. NO TENDER. The cab appears to be original and is in pretty nice shape. The engine actually runs in both directions but it does need some work. The e-unit works but sometimes sticks. The biggest issue is one of the front drive wheels is cracked. The center wheel next to it is broken. The pieces are there but the wheel is seperated into 2 pieces. I tried to show it in the pictures but the drive rods are in the way to see it clearly. Because of the break in the wheel, the drive rod mounting stud falls out of the wheel. I'll secure it when I ship it so none of the pieces get lost. The other issue is that although the motor runs, it is sluggish. I think it needs new brushes as it runs faster when I push on the brush springs. This steam engine is looking for a good home where it will either be restored to good working order or used to repair other American Flyer engines.
