This is the very, very rare 624 painted cement car from 1953. Mentioned in the Greenberg Guide as extremely rare. Has been in my collection for many years. As far as I can recall, it was purchased at York in the very early 80's. It was the great topic of conversation at that time. It is no less spectacular for the complete American Flyer collection now. There were very few made, that's for sure. Was it a prototype only? Very limited production before going to knuckle couplers as the 924? All interesting questions, but only the factory would know in 1953.All four steps are perfect. No damage at all. Is painted gray. Two piece brakewheels on cover. Great excellent condition. Bid with great confidence. You may NEVER see this one again. Shipping is $20, including Priority Parcel, confirmation, and high insurance.
