American Flyer 639 unpainted yellow boxcar #1 G+ NR
You are bidding on an American Flyer # 639 unpainted yellow boxcar. Lettering and the finish are almost like new on both sides, though the L is partly scratched off on one side and the car is dirty. (Clean using a soft toothbrush and two drops of dishwashing liquid in a cup of water; dry with a paper towel.) One of the black-weight link couplers is broken; the other is complete and works well. There are small rust spots inside the trucks where you don't see them, and the wheels need cleaning; otherwise, both trucks are in very good condition. Both ends of the catwalk have a corner broken off; one end also has the remaining end cracked and bent downward. T his car rates a strong C-5, Good. The 2010 Greenberg Price Guide lists it at $17.00 in Excellent condition.Sorry, I don't have the box. This car is being sold with no reserve. This is part of a large estate collection I am selling for a widow in Florida . The collection has been stored in a climate-controlled outbuilding with air conditioning and humidity control. In order to make sure that we do right by her, I am listing everything at 20% to 40% below Greenberg value (adjusted for condition) rather than starting the bidding at 99 cents. Shipping cost includes insurance and delivery confirmation so you can track it. I will ship it uninsured Priority Mail or First Class at lower cost to you if you accept full risk for loss or damage in shipping.

I have about 300 more American Flyer items from an estate I am selling - engines, cars, track, switches, etc. - including LOTS of gondolas from Norfolk & Western, Pennsy, Southern, and other lines . It doesn't matter to me which order I list them in, so I'll let you tell me!Whenever you find American Flyer items for sale, you can learn what they are, what they should look like, and when they were made by checking my website, .
