The American Flyer #944 Industrial Brownhoist Crane Car was one of the nicer and more popular freight cars produced in A.C. Gilbert's postwar S gauge line. It was made from 1952 to 1957. This one is showing a bit of age but is still in good shape. The lettering and colors are sharp and there is only a slight amount of rusting. The boom and crane mechanism work but the car does need re-stringing. String kits are available for two or three bucks or you can use your own string for what is a pretty simply job. The string for the boom is intact but the one for the hook is broken. The couplers work well.
