Here is a very nice American Flyer 954 Green painted Heavyweight Observation car from the Gilbert Meteor Passenger sets produced in 1953 and 1954. This car has been operated but the green painted car shell remains very clean with great overall paint retention and clean lettering. No breaks cracks or repairs. The car has clean lettering and numbering. Very clean roof with only some very minute signs of wear. I note there is a small shallow dimple in the roof of the car from the molding process. The underframe and truck assemblies are very clean and the couplers are original to the car and work well. About the only negative is some common warping of the plastic frame at the observation end with the railing. I note that the drumhead is original and intact. This is a great looking 954 shell with really nice overall paint retention and little playwear. SEE PHOTOS! If you have a 954 frame with little or no warping at the end you could easily swap the frames out. Great car to replace a worn or damaged car.
