Here is a great deal for a vintage American Flyer 963 RED STRIPE OBSERVATION CAR. This car has been used and shows some paint wear and nicks in the silver paint primarily on the roof here and there...refer to many photos. The sides and boat-tail car end and rounded roof end have remained very clean overall with the original amber drum head present and there is NO CRACK ABOVE OR BELOW THE DRUMHEAD! Very clean red stripes remain present. The metal numberboards show only some minor wear and the AFL lettering is clean. The antenna is present and shows only some light surface rust here and there which should clean up well. The car is illuminated and the interior light went on when I applied current. This car has a very clean underframe with only a few minute specks and tiny patches of early surface rust here and there. Original knuckle coupler works well. If the roof matched the sides in condition this would be a very solid excellent car. An operator should like this since it is clean overall and has no cracks or breaks. Actually some careful touchup here and there on the roof would make it look like an excellent condition car. This car comes with a vintage observation car box with opening flaps at one end and folded closed flaps at the other. The stamped endflap has been reinforced with clear tape.
