The 953-952-954 American Flyer set of Red Heavyweight type passenger cars, with the People/Silhouettes, are in the range of VG-VG+ (mostly because of the lighter roof scratches). The 952 & 954 are a little better than the 953. The red factory paintshoot is below average on the end of the 953 & 952-you can see some brush marks. All the lights work. The lettering/stamping is at least 98+% complete. The end railing on the back of the observation is original, but the original "American Flyer Lines" decal is only around 50% complete. There is the very common slight warping, downward, on the back of the 954 observation. The steps on the 952 coach have not been cut from the factory. They were made in middle to late 1955 only. They are an uncommon set of cars to find; the 954 is the toughest to find, individually. They are top operator pieces, and are the key cars to the 5555W (the last Cataloged steam passenger) set: 326-918-953-952-954 Red with People/Silhouettes. The last EX set went for around $1100-$1200; and EX 954, missing the decal, went recently on ebay for around $475; the EX 952 went for around $425. My reserve is way under those prices.
