I am selling my entirelife-time collection of AMERICAN FLYER “S” gauge items: engines (14), rolling stock cars (172), electrical operating equipment, Plasticville structures, automatic & manual switches (18), transformers, controls, and much, much more. I am listing these items a few at a time over the next month or so. Each item has an inventory number shown in the photos so that I can send you exactly the item you choose to bid upon and win. Most items are in EXCELLENT condition, and all known defects/problems with each item are listed for your consideration and often can be seen on the close-up photographs above. This item is an S-gauge American Flyer (??) model train item as follows: 374003 PC PENN CENTRAL Box CarThis is my item # 157.NOTE: I cannot find this car in the 2010 Greenberg catalog. That makes me wonder if this car is an AF pedigree car, or a bastard (a repaint). It does have the "A.C. Gilbert" stamped into the sheet metal undercarriage, but it still could be a bastard child someone made from another car. Anyway, it sure is pretty......PS - the photos, taken outdoors, make the car appear a little more bluish than it really is in real life (indoors). The color is more like a rich medium green than bluish. It is made of plastic on top with a sheet metal undercarriage. It weighs 6.3 ounces. The trucks are the thick die-cast metal type. The couplers are the knuckle type, they are original, and they work. It was made during this time period: ???? I would rate this car to be very good plus plus. are the “problems” (chips, scratches, rubs, etc.) that I see with this item: Frankly, I see no problems with this beautiful green box car. No chips, no rubs, no missing parts - it looks like out-of-the-box like-new. T are several specks of rust on the bottom. The doors on this one look very real, complete with door latches, but they do not open - that's how it was made. The lettering/logo looks good - it is painted on, NOT decals. The green color is just as shown in the photos - sharp. This item is RETURNABLE for a refund under the following conditions: You pay the return postage. If the item is received in the SAME condition as it was sent to you, I will refund your payment for this item (minus the money you paid me to ship the item to you). I have a tiny unseen mark on each piece so that I know I am getting the same piece returned to me that I sent out. I ship to USA lower-48 state continental addresses only, with delivery confirmation. I ship the item well padded inside a new piece of crush-proof plastic sewer pipe. I do not mess with insurances. If you find damage upon delivery, I request that you send me a close-up photograph of that damage and we will go from t to resolve the issue.
