Up for auction is an AMERICAN FLY ER S gauge # 63 2 Virginian die cast hopper car and most of its box. As ma y be seen in the photos this car is in overall good c ondition but does have a few problems that need to be highlighted. I f you look closely at the first phot o you will see that side of the c ar does not have its stirrup ste ps. In the third and forth photos I have t aken close-up photos of each end of that side of the c ar so you can see they have been broken off. Additionally , in looking at the forth photo you will notice a slight bend in the horizontal support me mber that runs from the end of the ca r to the hopper body. In the si xth photo showing the bottom of the car you will see o ne hatch is missing; the one on the upper right of the hopper bottom. Other than t hose few problems, this car mak es a good appearance and has good , clean operating trucks and couplers. The box has not flaps on one end but ac tually has all flaps on the end of the box with the identifying rubber s tam p althoug h it is very light and hard to read. While not perfect I still feel it would make a nice addition to a n American Flyer collection.
