You are bidding on an American Flyer Historic American Railroads #7 C&O Passenger Set made in 1989. Complete set in original boxes with paperwork: 48102/03 ALCO PA units, 48900 Combo Car, 48901 Coach, 48902 Vista Dome, & 48903 Observation Car. The wheels of the passenger cars have some of their original lustre, but do reveal that they have been run a little bit. I would assume that the engines have been run as well, but the pickup shoes look like they've never touched a track and rubbing the wheels with a paper napkin picks up only a trace of black. I can't say for sure that the engines have been run; they might not have been. Let's call the set C-8 Like New. I did a test run at our train club: it does run and the horn works, but it sounds like it needs lubrication, not surprising for a 24-year old engine. The boxes are in beautiful P-10 condition, with virtually no wear and no notations. The 2012 TM Price Guide lists it at $500 in C-10 condition; the 2013 Greenberg book doesn't list the set, but the components add up to $552.
You are, of course, bidding only on the engines and passenger cars in the set; nothing else on the layout is included.
This item is being sold with no reserve.
