AMERICAN FLYER LINES 290 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE Hello and Thanks for Visiting My Auction. This listing is for an American Flyer Lines Number 290 Steam locomotive with The American Flyer Lines Logo. Pacific (4-6-2). This nice Engine came from an estate auction which I purchased a while ago and contained several of these 290 engines, so I am offering some of them for sale. This one is in good condition as the locomotive itself is in great shape with no paint flaking or rust.The tender on the other hand has quite a bit of paint flaking on one side and then the other has some but not to bad. I put in on my test board and it ran forward and cycled to reverse nicely, but it is going to need a good servicing before putting her into service.This Loco has the smoke and choo-choo, but I could not get it to smoke. It will probably need a smoke wick to help it preform this operation. Choo-choo sounds are present. Please go over it real good and preform the proper maintenance and she should be a real nice runner for your layout. I will be happy to include the operating and maintenance instructions from my service manual for your ready reference to aid you with these procedures.This model has the die-cast boiler and knuckle coupler.
