Up for bid is most of an O scale American Flyer #561 Locomotive w/tender shell. I had these left over from a restoration that I performed for a friend's father's engine from his childhood. The parts on this one range from poor/broken to good. Locomotive shell - It is intact and nothing appears to be broken. It is missing the boiler front and most of the hand rails. There are a bunch of cotter pins for the hand railing though. Tender Shell - It has a broken step (passenger side). These are notorious for broken steps and difficult to find them intact. I do not have the broken step for it. I received this shell in a parts purchase in which other components of the parts purchase were needed. Motor and Chassis - This motor does run. I tested it and it could used a good cleaning and lube of course. If I recall, it was a little hesitant when I tested it. It could be the reversing unit as it seemed a little touchy. Unfortunately, the mounting piece for the rail contacts is very brittle and broke in half. Everything else about the chassis and motor looks good. I was actually contemplating using it to restore another one. Steam Chest - It is in good condition and I do have the guides that go to it. Cow Catcher - One of the small steps is broken on the front but otherwise is in decent shape. Lanterns are present but missing jewels. I read more
