This is a American Flyer "heavy switcher" that was created using a 290 shell. The shell was cleaned, and new stainless steel handrails were installed on the cab and front bumper area. The front bumper area was made using structural styrene plastic. A working knuckle coupler was installed in the front bumper area. The unit has working choo choo, smoke (on the light side), and working head-light. The chassis was cleaned/oiled/lubed, and the motor was serviced. The e-unit was also serviced and works every time The tender shell is a Marx unit that was modified to fit the flyer chassis. Both boiler shell and tender shell were painted a flat black, and the cab numbers are dry rub transfers. The tender shell was left bare for the new owner to customize with their own logo. The engine runs very well, and can take all corners at a above normal operating speed. The front leading trucks were eliminated, and in doing so, poses no problems as to run-ability..There is also a new custom-made wiring harness installed which mimics the original flyer cloth covering. All in all , a nice little loco for your switching needs. Thanks for looking. REVISION: I PUT BACK ON THE FRONT LEADING TRUCKS I WILL FURNISH THE BUYER WITH THE FRONT TRUCK ASSEMBLY, without the wheels. This will give you a choice of what you want to run.
