~*~*~American Girl~*~*~ Samantha's School Desk Guaranteed Authenic Mint Condition This genuine American Girl school desk was part of Samantha’s collection and was retired in 2008. In mint condition—close to perfect—it was only used for display. There are some very minor marks but nothing is really noticable unless you are inspecting it extremely closely. Beautifully crafted of wood and cast iron, in classic Victorian style, this desk has a pencil holding groove and a hole for a bottle of ink. There is a lower shelf to store supplies. The desk measures 12-1/2" long, 10" tall, and 8" wide. It will fit any 18" doll. It has the Pleasant Company sticker, with the cast iron marked P.C., and is guaranteed to be authentic American Girl. This sale includes the original box, which has only minor wear on the edges. This spectacular desk comes to you from a smoke-free, pet-free home. This desk is associated with the book, Samantha Learns a Lesson . When Miss Crampton asks Samantha a question in her class for proper young ladies, Samantha must stand next to a Victorian desk like this one to answer. Her friend, Helen, sometimes tucks a note into the metal curlicues of the hardwood desk for Samantha to find when she sits down.
