A highly decorative large oil painting by well listed artist Martha Greta Kempton ( 1903-1991 ). The picture is signed on the front and signed again on the back and dated 1929. The artist was known for her portraits,landscapes and still lifes. Martha Kempton trained at the Vienna National Academy. In 1926 she moved to The United States. This picture represents one of her earlier works in this country and shows an Art Nouveau influence.. Her flower paintings have sold for as much as 3000 dollars.The artist exhibited at the Corcoran Galery,Grand Central Gallery,National Academy of Design just to mention a few. This is oil on canvas measuring 30 by 24 inches. T are 3 small patches on the back Other than that the painting is all originall and is in nice condition considering that it is over 80 years old. We examined the painting under ultra violet black light. This showed inpainting to be only very minimal , representing no more than 1 to 2 percent. This is a richly colored , thickly textured oil painting by a well known American woman artist .It is highly decorative. We are listing it with no reserve at an opening bid that is only a fraction of its real value. Thanks for looking - Mikethepicker .
