I have nine (9) documents associated with the American Protective League. This organization was established around 1913 to assist the United States Department of Justice in helping to overthrow the German Spy System in the United States, defeat the work of the German propagandist, prove and disprove loyaltyof prominent citizens and operate as a detective body. Most of the documents are dated 1918 and are originals, not photo copies. One document details events regarding an investigation into "Pro-German utterances" at a plant in Milburn, Ohio. Another document dated January 1919 details the order suspending the operation of the Toledo, Ohio division of the American Protective League.
