A neat little iron bullet mold (illustrated here with a U.S. quarter for size comparison) in a style as common to the colonial riflemans hunting bag as to the accoutrement pouch of the Kentucky type percussion rifle or belt pistol of the period. A classic style of the American rifleman from the period of the Revolution through the period of the Civil War as is attested to by excavation from Civil War military sites. (see: Neumann & Kravics Collectors Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution and Philips Excavated Artifacts from Battlefields & Campsites of the Civil War ) This example shows good evidence of age, period use and originality yet remains in eye appealing, functional condition. This one is nicely marked 36 for size.
