A neat iron bullet mold in a style as common to the colonial riflemans hunting bag as to the accoutrement pouch of the Kentucky type percussion rifle or belt pistol of the period. A classic style of the American rifleman from the period of the Revolution through the period of the Civil War as is attested to by excavation from Civil War military sites. (see: Neumann & Kravics Collectors Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution and Philips Excavated Artifacts from Battlefields & Campsites of the Civil War ) This example shows good evidence of age, period use and originality yet remains in eye appealing, functional condition. It is marked #17 according to the period gauging method which meant seventeen balls to the pound (approx 11/16 inch in diameter.) Don't forget to give our search feature a try for special wants. (located at the top of the thumbnail page) A simple key word in lower case works best.
