.52 caliber, 6" barrel, with military markings at breech and dated 1844. Lockplate marked N.P Ames, Springfield, Mass. Marked USN and dated 1843 at rear. Walnut stock with brass furniture. Condition: Barrel and lock with pitting and is grey-to-brown. Stock with nicks and dings. Brass furniture has nicely tarnished.
