This Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Diamond In The Square Amish crib quilt,measures 39" x 39" with about 8 stitches per inch, is in excellent condition, and has a thin batting and a solid black backing. It dates from around the 1940's and has much beautiful quilting throughout, including scrolling featd vines and hearts in the borders with diamonds and geometric shapes and diamonds on the inside border. Diamond quilting in the triangles, and a featd wreath in the center. This design was very popular with the Lancaster County Amish, one of the first Amish settlements in America. The striking colors in a rich, deep pallette of blues, plum and lavender, make this quilt a very rare and desirable find.
